Surat's Airport

Surat's Airport was built in 2007, since when flight to Delhi was initiated by Air India. Subsequently in 2012, SpiceJet commenced flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and other cities, but it closed down due to its own financial constraints.  Currently Surat is connected to Delhi, Bhavnagar, Rajkot, Diu and other cities.

Kantareshwar Temple - Katargam


The famous and most ancient Kantareshwar Temple in Katargam Area. In keeping with the times, the Temple is now also online at   www.shreekantareshwar.com
 
 The magical Pond just outside the Kantareshwar Temple. It was believed a dip in this pond would absolve one of his/her sins. Unfortunately the pond is now sealed off.

Swaminarayan Gurukul

 Swaminarayan Gurukul located on Ved Road
 The Gurukul (School) buildings have an amazing aesthetic appearance
 Very few people can judge from its appearance that its a school

 A unique lifetime "Akhand Dhun" ... 24 Hours Non Stop 365 days a year.. Women sing the dhun from 8am-7pm and men takeover from 7pm to 8am. The Dhun was started on 25.12.1997 and has been going strong since the past 15 continous years..and still going on

Figurines depicting various mythological stories have been made all over the premises.

Floriculture..

In the past 10 years, the areas surrounding Surat have come up rapidly as Floriculture Centres, with majority of the farmers going for Gerbera Flowers.



Each Farm produces thousands of such lovely flowers, which are cut, packed and exported.

Siddhnath Mahadev Temple

 Siddhnath Mahadev Temple.. situated near Saras Village at Olpad, about 22 Kms from Surat is a temple of immense faith situated in serene surroundings.
The Temple is frequented by Surtis.. many of whom walk the whole road from Surat barefooted.
